I had a great day out visiting the International Garden Photographer of the Year private view exhibition at Kew Gardens in London. The awarded images on display were stunning and I encourage you to visit their website to see some examples of beautiful gardens around the world. I was delighted to see my commended image of a sunset over Skomer Island featured in the awards book.
Highly Commended in BWPA 2016
I am delighted to announce my photograph of an Atlantic puffin was awarded highly commended in the black and white category of the British Wildlife Photography Awards 2016. This is an image I took on Skomer Island. Puffins are well known for their vibrant beaks and comical appearance, so I decided to show a more elegant side - converting the image to black and white and using a close crop to illustrate the bird cleaning itself. I was so happy to see my image alongside those of other talented photographers in London. It was great to meet likeminded people at the awards ceremony last night, and congratulations to all the other successful entrants.
